Whether you’re looking for a gentle bike ride or a cycling tour, you’re be spoilt for choice in Ain! For both beginners and seasoned cyclists, whether you’re on your own, with family or among friends, there’s something to suit all tastes (and all calves!).

  • 1100 km dedicated to the route – cyclists’ journey
  • Nearly 500 km of on-road circuits, including 8 Ain by bike routes,
  • Nearly 300 km of cycle paths, including the 250 km ViaRhôna track – Northern section Leman-Lyon – and 60 km of La Voie Bleue® – Mâcon-Lyon,
  • 18 mountain passes, such as Grand Colombier Pass (at 1501 meters) ou le Col de la Faucille (at 1323 meters),
  • Many long-distance routes: the Grande Traversée du Jura on bike, for example,
  • La Voie Bleue® – Moselle Saône by bike – section of 50 km – Mâcon-Trévoux.

As the weather gets warmer, the urge to get out on your mountain bike gets stronger. It’s as if Ain’s slopes were made for mountain biking, they are a real playground for amateur and seasoned riders alike!

  • Nearly 2000 of circuits,
  • Long-distance routes : Grande Traversée du Jura on mountain bike,
  • Some big competitions, such as the Forestière VTT and the Cormavalanche,
  • 2 bike parks in Cormaranche-en-Bugey with 4 downhill slopes and 5 accessible enduro slopes and in Monts Jura, 6 enduro slops (from blue to black level),
  • 3 FFCT mountain biking resorts  (French Federation of Cycle Tourism),
  • 1 FFC mountain biking resorts (French Federation of Cycling) : the Ain Forestière VTT located in the Ain mountain with 100 courses for all levels : beginners, families and experts.
