Pont de Vaux is a fisherman’s paradise! But that’s not all it has to offer…

Fishing enthusiasts are also welcome to practise their passion here next to the lake, the meres and neighbouring rivers.

Pont de Vaux also boasts a rich but little-known heritage, made up of interesting vestiges of its past, including pilasters from the Renaissance era, mansions and half-timbered houses.

Sand dunes in Ain, hundreds of miles from the sea?!

Charmes Dunes in Sermoyer are a rare natural wonder – and only 5 miles (8km) from Pont de Vaux. Wander through the undergrowth and feel the sand beneath your toes in the heart of the countryside, miles from the crowded coastline – what a unique experience! Why not make a day of it and have a picnic at the heart of this natural setting and national historic monument?
