A wonderland of haute cuisine and gastronomy
Busy waiters, chefs and their assistants rush about the shaded terrace. It’s morning in Vonnas, and preparation for the lunch-time service is in full flow, out of step with the sleepy rhythm of the River Veyle meandering gently through the Bresse woodland. All around the square stand the various reconstructions that make up Village Blanc: shops, wine cellars, cafés, bakeries, spa hotels, the bistro L’Ancienne Auberge and of course the 3-time Michelin-starred Restaurant Georges Blanc.
Expertise passed down through the generations
As with many fine dining establishments, the restaurant was passed down to Georges Blanc from famous chefs, the renowned Mères lyonnaises: Elisa and Paulette Blanc.
He continuously reinvents his region’s produce with unique and delicious creations, all based around strictly high-quality ingredients.
Blue lobster in a Jura white wine sauce, freshly caught pike from the Dombes ponds, Vonnas crêpes and, of course, the legendary AOP Bresse chicken… Each season brings new flavours and exceptional menus exuding elegance and sophistication.
